NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On April 12, 1998, about 1500 universal time coordinated, a Piper PA-32R-300, N2SX, registered to Bahati Aviation, Inc., crashed near Dolo Odo, Ethiopia, while on a Title 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions were reported and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft received substantial damage and the pilot and two passengers were not injured. The flight originated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the same day, about 1430. The flight was en route to Nairobi, Kenya, from Addis Ababa, when the accident occurred. The pilot made radio contact with an aircraft flying overhead shortly after the accident, and reported they had crashed near Dolo Odo.
