NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On December 18, 1999, a Boeing DC-10-30F airplane, N800WR (U.S. registry) operated by the Ugandan air carrier DAS Air Cargo, experienced an uncontained fan blade separation in the No. 2 (center) engine, a General Electric Aircraft Engines model CF6-50, during takeoff from Amsterdam. This event is being investigative by the Dutch Transportation Safety Board, from whom additional information may be obtained.
