NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

THE PLT WAS MAKING A VISUAL APPCH TO RWY 27 AT ELYRIA,OH. THE FAA INSPECTOR VISITING THE SITE OF THE OCCURRENCE REPORTED THAT HE FOUND A SNOWBANK 2 1/2 FEET HIGH AT THE LANDING THRESHOLD. HE ALSO FOUND AIRCRAFT TRACKS THROUGH THE SNOWBANK. THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH THE SNOWBANK AT THE THRESHOLD COLLAPSING THE NOSE AND LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS ASSESSED AS MINOR AND THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES.
