NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

PILOT STATED HE TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 1/3 THE WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY BUT THE SURFACE PROVIDED LITTLE OR NO BRAKING ACTION. REALIZING THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO STOP, HE ADDED POWER FOR A GO-AROUND. FLYING SPEED WAS ATTAINED AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY, AND DURING LIFT-OFF THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED A SMALL TREE OUTBOARD OF THE RIGHT WHEEL WHICH BECAME EMBEDDED 6 TO 8 INCHES INTO THE WING. THE PILOT THROTTLED THE ENGINE FULL BACK AND LANDED, COMING TO REST ABOUT 200 FEET OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY.

THE PILOT'S DECISION TO ABORT THE LANDING TOO FAR DOWN THE RUNWAY. A FACTOR WAS: THE SMALL TREE LOCATED OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY.
