NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT NORMALLY, WHEN HE APPLIED BRAKES, THE LEFT BRAKE MALFUNCTIONED AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, COLLIDING WITH A VASI SIGN. EXAMINATION OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM DID NOT REVEAL ANY MALFUNCTIONS. TWO EQUAL SKID MARKS WERE FOUND ON THE RUNWAY LEADING OFF OF IT TO THE RIGHT TO WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST.

THE PILOT FAILED TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE LANDING ROLL.
