NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

THE FIRST OFFICER ON THE SCHEDULED COMMUTER FLIGHT BECAME PHYSICALLY INCAPACITATED AND PASSED OUT DURING THE FLIGHT. THE CAPTAIN MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING. THE FIRST OFFICER WAS TREATED AND DIAGNOSED AS SUFFERING FROM A VIRAL SYNDROME. THE PILOT INVOLVED STATED THAT THE SYMPTOMS STARTED THE DAY BEFORE THE FLIGHT, BUT HE DID NOT WANT TO CALL IN SICK SINCE IT WAS ONLY HIS SECOND WEEK WITH THE COMPANY.

NTSB Probable Cause Narrative

PHYSICAL INCAPACITATION DUE TO AN ORGANIC PATHOGEN. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS ARE ANXIETY AND SELF-INDUCED PRESSURE.
