AN EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A SAGE BRUSH CLEARING. THE PILOT SAID THE ACFT MANUAL SHOULD BE CHANGED. 'IT STATES THAT CARB ICE IS RARE AND IS CORRECTED BY ALTERNATE AIR.
