NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
THE ACFT WAS ON A NIGHT CARGO FLT TO TRANSPORT DIESEL FUEL,
BUT ALSO HAD 3 PASSENGERS ON BOARD. IT DEPARTED LUANDA
ARPT, ANGOLA AT 2105 GMT ON A FLT TO DUNDO, ANGOLA. THE ESTI
MATED TIME OF ARRIVAL AT DUNDO WAS 2300 GMT. COMMUNICATION
WITH THE ACFT WAS NORMAL UNTIL THE LAST TRANSMISSION WHICH W
AS AN INQUIRY ABOUT THE RELIABILITY OF THE NON-DIRECTIONAL
RADIO BEACON AT DUNDO. THIS CALL WAS MADE AT 2257 GMT & WAS
THE LAST COMMUNICATION FROM THE ACFT. THE ACFT DID NOT
ARRIVE AT THE DESTINATION & A SEARCH WAS BEGUN. THE WRECKAGE
WAS FOUND ABOUT 32 MI SOUTH OF THE DESTINATION ARPT WHERE
THE ACFT CRASHED & BURNED. IMPACT OCCURRED WHILE THE ACFT WA
S IN A SLIGHTLY LEFT WING LOW, LEVEL FLT ATTITUDE AT AN
ELEVATION OF 2650 FT MSL.
