NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

Aircraft SU-GAO operated by EgyptAir as flight 880 from Johannesburg struck the ground with the left engine while attempting a landing on runway 23 at Harare, Zimbabwe. The engine separated from the wing and the airplane skidded to a stop. Six or seven passengers were injured during the emergency evacuation. Weather at the time of the accident was reported as moderate to heavy rain with good visibility.
