NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

Flight was scheduled from Taipei to Bangkok. Diverted to Danang, Vietnam due to fuel loss of about 9 tons in 1/2 hour. Once on ground, maintenance crews noticed fuel accumulated under number 2 engine, a Rolls Royce TRENT-884. Examination revealed that fuel tube found "chafed" against the engine causing rupture. Tube is identified as P/N FK23986.
