NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On April 20, 1998, at about 2145 UTC, a TAME Airlines Boeing 727-200, enroute from Bogota, Colombia, operating as Air France flight 422 to Quito, Ecuador, crashed into a hillside shortly after takeoff from Bogota. The airplane was on an IFR flight plan. The 9 crewmembers and 43 passengers perished. The accident was investigated by the government of Colombia. A Final Report of Aircraft Accident was issued April 27, 1999 by Aeronautica Civil, Republic of Colombia.
