NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On May 7, 2002 at approximately 1518 local time, EgyptAir flight 843, a Boeing 737-500, crashed while on final approach into Tunis-Carthage International Airport in Tunis, Tunisia. The airplane crashed about 4 statute miles west of the airport. The airplane was destroyed. There was no fire. Of the 6 crew members and 56 passengers aboard, 3 crew members and 11 passengers received fatal injuries.
