NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On May 22, 2002, at 1324 coordinated universal time, a Schweizer 300C, D-HSEP, was substantially damaged during a forced landing near Weiz, Austria. The foreign-certificated pilot and passenger were not injured. Weather at the time was unknown, and the flight originated from Weiz, Austria. According to the Austrian Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAAIB), the helicopter experienced a loss of engine power, and the pilot performed a forced landing to a field. During the landing, the helicopter touched down hard, and sustained substantial damage. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the AAAIB.
