NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On July 28, 2002, at 1800 universal coordinated time (UTC), a Cessna T210N single-engine airplane, Peruvian registration OB-1261, was substantially damaged during a forced landing following a loss of engine power while in cruise flight near Puerto Portillo, in the Republic of Peru. The commercial pilot and 2 passengers sustained minor injuries while 3 passengers were uninjured. The airplane, serial number 210-64765, was owned and operated by Cielos del Oriente S.A., of Lima, Peru. The on-demand domestic air taxi flight originated from Atalaya at 1710 UTC, with Pucallpa at its intended destination.
