NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On October 21, 2002, about 0240 UTC, a Boeing 767-300, Icelandic registration TF-ARA, registered to Air Atlanta Icelandic, and operated by Southern Winds Lineas Aereas SA, experienced a separation of the left off wing slide during takeoff at the Ezieza International Airport, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The flight was a scheduled international passenger flight from Buenos Aires to Miami, Florida. The aircraft received minor damage to the fuselage skin. No injuries were reported from the 153 passengers and 9 crewmembers. The flight was originating at the time of the incident. The incident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Argentina.
