NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On January 4, 2002, about 1221 eastern standard time, a Cessna CJ525, PT-XJS, registered to Transportadora Julio Simoes s.a., crashed during taxi after landing at Congonhas Airport, Sao Paulo, Brazil, while on a 14 CFR Part 91 business flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time, and it is unknown if a flight plan was filed. The aircraft was substantially damaged. The crew of two and two passengers reported no injuries. The flight had departed the Marcos A. Gelabert Airport, Panama at 1405. The aircraft made a normal landing, and proceeded to the end of the runway, at excessive speed. It was raining, and the runway wa wet. There was a sharp drop off or cliff at the end of the runway. The pilot attempted to turn the airplane onto a taxiway, but the aircraft began to slide sideways and backwards, and fell over the edge of the drop off. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Brazil.
