NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On April 25, 2003, about 1245 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-16, N5900H (serial number 16-520), was substantially damaged while landing at the Saint Girons Airport (LFCG), Saint Girons, France. The pilot and passenger were not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the foreign personal flight. According to the initial notification report, the airplane was landing on runway 10. During the landing roll, the airplane's left landing gear collapsed and the left wing was damaged. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of France.
