NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On July 21, 2003, about 1000 Pacific daylight time, a Hughes 369D, C-FOHX, sustained substantial damage following a loss of tail rotor authority and subsequent forced landing while conducting external load operations near Powell River, BC, Canada. The commercial pilot, the sole occupant of the helicopter was not injured. The helicopter is owned by Oceanview Helicopters Ltd, Powell River, BC. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the local flight.
