NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On July 23, 2003, about 1115 UTC (0815 local standard time), a Cessna Citation 551, Brazilian registration PT-LME, registered owner information unknown, operated by Agua Limpa Transportes LTDA, overran the runway and collided with vehicles while landing at the Sorocaba Airport, Sorocaba, Brazil. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and flight plan information and purpose of the flight are unknown. The airplane was substantially damaged and the pilot was fatally injured. The copilot sustained minor injuries and a passenger sustained serious injuries; injuries to personnel on the ground are unknown. The flight deprated from Lins, Brazil, the same day. According to preliminary information, the airplane overran the runway while landing and collided with houses off airport property; the crash site elevation was 25 meters lower than the runway elevation. A METAR taken from Sao Paulo, Brazil, about 15 minutes before the accident indicates the visibility was 2.49 statute miles, with mist reported; the accident site was located approximately 100 kilometers west of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Brazil.
