NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On June 22, 2003, a BritAir (Air France) Canadair CRJ-100, Flight 5672 crashed on short final approach to Brest, France. During the ILS approach, the aircraft deviated to the left of centerline and descended below the glideslope. The co-pilot called for a go-around and the engines began to spool up but the airplane struck the ground. The airplane struck several obstacles and came to rest 2150 meters from the the runway 26L threshold and 450 meters south of the localizer track and caught fire. There were 20 passengers and 3 crew aboard the flight. The Captain was fatally injured. One crew member and 3 passengers were injured. The Bureau D'Enquetes Et D'Analyses (BEA- France) is investigating the accident and will issue an accident report.
