NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On September 4, 2003, at 0730 central daylight time, a Cessna 152 single-engine airplane, Panamanian registration HP-1426AS, was substantially damaged upon collision with terrain following loss of control while landing at the Tocumen International Airport (MPTO), near Tocumen, in the Republic of Panama. The student pilot, sole occupant, sustained serious injuries. The airplane was owned and operated by Albrook Flight School, of Albrook, Panama. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the cross-country flight for which a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan was filed. The round-robin flight originated from the Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport (MPMG).
