NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On November 3, 2003, about 1025 central standard time, a Cessna 206C, Costa Rican registration TI-AVH, registered to and operated by Alfa Romeo Aerotaxi, as an air taxi flight, struck trees and collided with the ground while on a takeoff climb from Aerodrome de Golfito, Costa Rica. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and flight plan information was not available. The airplane was substantially damaged, the commercial-rated pilot and the passenger were seriously injured. The flight was originating at the time of the accident. Preliminary information received by the NTSB indicated on takeoff climb the airplane did not clear the trees at the end of the runway, striking them and consequently collided with the terrain.
