NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On August 15, 2003, 1310 coordinated universal time, a Cirrus SR-20, N209CD, registered to and operated by Plane Holding Inc., collided with the ground short of the runway during a final approach to Teuge Airport, in Teuge, Netherlands-Holland. The airplane was operating under the provisions of the Dutch Civil Aviation Regulations. The pilot and one passenger received serious injuries, and the airplane sustained substantial damage. The flight departed Eelde, in the Netherlands, at an undetermined time on August 15, 2003. Reportedly, while on a short final approach to land, a police helicopter crossed the flight path of the airplane. The pilot pitched the airplane up approximately 45-degrees and made an evasive 60-degree turn to the left. As pilot continued to maneuver the airplane to avoid buildings and trees, the airplane stalled and collided with the ground. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of and is being conducted by the Dutch Transport Safety Bureau.
