NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On January 2, 2004, about 1430 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA31T, N480CA, was destroyed when it impacted terrain while on approach to the Toussus Le Noble Airport (LFPN), Toussus Le Noble, France. The certificated commercial pilot and two passengers were fatally injured. The personal flight originated from Tel Aviv, Israel, and stopped in Greece, before it continued to LFPN. According to the initial notification, the airplane was performing a VOR DME approach to runway 7, when it impacted terrain about 6 miles from the airport. According to information provided by the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot reported 650 hours of total flight experience on his most recent application for an FAA third class medical certificate, which was issued on February 5, 2002. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of France.
