NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On November 29, 2003 at 0230 local time, ZS-OOS, a Boeing 747-200, a cargo flight operated by Hydro Air Cargo of South Africa, collided with obstruction while landing on runway 19R at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria. Visual meteorological conditions existed. None of the eight occupants were injured. The airplane was substantially damaged. There was no fire. The flight originated at Brussels, Belgium with an intermediate stop at Lagos, and the final destination was Johannesburg, South Africa. The investigation is under the jurisdication of the Republic of Nigeria, Federal Minsitry of Aviation, Accident Investigation Bureau and the Investigator-In-Charge is Remi Faminu, ( telephone number 234-1-497-4901).
