NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On July 30, 2005, approximately 1140 Korean standard time, a Bell 206L4, HL9163, impacted the surface of a river near the town of Jeonnam, South Korea. One of the occupants received serious injuries and the other occupant received minor injuries. The aircraft, which was being operated by Korean Bell Helicopter Company, sustained substantial damage. The helicopter, which had departed a local staging area a few minutes earlier, was being operated in visual meteorological conditions. According to the Republic of Korea's Aircraft Accident Investigation Division, the helicopter was seen departing a local staging area near Jeonnam for the purpose of conducting aerial application activities. A few minutes later it was observed descending rapidly into a nearby river.
