NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On August 7, 2005, at 1810 coordinated universal time, a Reims Aviation FR172E, G-OMAC, was substantially damaged under unknown circumstances at West Sussex, United Kingdom. The pilot was fatally injured. According to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), the airplane crashed into a field possibly after takeoff from a nearby airstrip. This investigation is under jurisdiction of the AAIB.
