NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On September 7, 2005, at 1557 central standard time, a Cessna 152 single-engine airplane, Mexican registration XB-CHO, was destroyed upon impact with terrain following a loss of control while on approach to runway 28 at the Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (KGDL), near Guadalajara, Mexico. The flight instructor and student pilot were fatally injured. The airplane was owned and operated by Provuelo de Aviacion of Guadalajra, Mexico. The airplane, serial number 152-84743, was powered by a Lycoming O-235-22C engine. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed throughout the area at the time of the accident for the local flight. The investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Government of the Republic of Mexico.
