NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On September 16, 2005, at 1600 eastern daylight time, a twin turbo-fan Cessna 525 airplane, Brazilian registration PT-WLX, was destroyed upon impact with terrain following a loss of control during initial takeoff climb near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The airplane, serial number 525-0176, was owned by JCA Holdings e Participacoes, a Brazilian Corporation. The two commercial pilots were fatally injured. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed for the positioning flight. The flight was initiating at the time of the accident. The flight was in the process of repositioning to the Jacarepagua Airport, also in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The accident investigation is under the control and jurisdiction of the Division of Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (DIPAA) fo the Department of Civil Aviation of the Government of Brazil.
