NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On November 7, 2005, about 0630 Atlantic standard time, a Cessna 172M, Guyana registration, 8R-GVL, registered to and operated by Priamlall Mohanlall, as a business flight, had the left main landing gear strut, in the fuselage, outboard of the bolt, separate on landing at a private grass strip in Mazem, Essequibo Coast, Guyana. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed. The pilot was not injured, and the airplane incurred minor damage. The flight originated at Mazem, Guyana, the same day, about 0620.
According to an official with the Office of the Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority, during landing the left main landing gear separated near the fuselage attach point and the airplane incurred minor damage.
