NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On March 27, 2006, at 1730 central standard time, a single-engine Cessna 150 airplane, Mexican registration XB-KAT, was destroyed upon impact with terrain following a loss of control while on approach to runway 32 at the Ponciano Arriaga International Airport, near San Luis Obispo, State of San Luis Obispo, in the Republic of Mexico. The flight instructor and the student pilot receiving flight instruction were fatally injured. The airplane was owned and operated by a flight school based at MMSP. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the
instructional flight for which a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan was filed. The local flight originated from MMSP at 1600.
The accident investigation is under the control and jurisdiction of the Government of Mexico. Further
