NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On May 25, 2006, at 0855 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 150M, EI-CHM, was substantially damaged when it impacted the ground in Raharney, Ireland. The two pilots onboard were fatally injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight which departed the Weston Executive Airport (EIWT), Kildare, Ireland at 0820. According to the Irish Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU), the purpose of the flight was a final student checkout flight prior to the student's planned certificated flight instructor (CFI) checkride. The airplane impacted the ground in a steep, nose-down attitude approximately 26 statute miles northwest of the airport. The investigation is under jurisdiction of the AAIU.
