NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On September 3, 2006, a Boeing 737-300, registration AP-BCC, operated by Pakistan International Airlines, lost a portion of the right elevator and trim tab. The airplane was on approach to the Doha, Qatar airport when the crew noted an unsafe gear indication. The crew performed a go-around and fly-by of the control tower for observation, and a portion of the right hand elevator and trim tab was found to be missing. Additional information indicates the crew experienced a thudding sound and vibration shortly after departure from Karachi.
