NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On November 18, 2006, about 2105 local time, an Aerosucre B-727 operating as a cargo flight from Bogota, Colombia, to Leticia, Colombia, impacted a 150-foot television antenna about 2 miles from the airport at Leticia. The airplane was on a visual approach for runway 21, and visual meteorological conditions with patches of fog prevailed at the time of the accident. The airplane was destroyed following subsequent impact with terrain, and the 3 flightcrew members and 2 passengers were fatally injured.
The accident is under investigation by the Colombian Aeronautica Civil.
