NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On June 16, 2011 at 1301 UTC, ZS-SJO, a Boeing 737-800, operated by South African Airways, sustained a separation of the right nose wheel while taxiing for takeoff at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa. A preliminary inspection revealed a fracture of the axle of the right nose wheel assembly. There were no injuries or further damage. The flight was destined for Dars es Salaam, Tanzania. The South African Civil Aviaton Authority is conducting an investigation of the incident. The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the CAA's investigation as the State of manufacture.
