San Andreas, California 95249
Saturday, June 9, 2012 11:30 PDT

NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

The pilot reported that the airplane was in cruise flight at 4,000 feet mean sea level when the engine suddenly stopped producing power. He attempted to glide the airplane to a nearby airport, but he landed the airplane in uneven terrain near the airport boundary. A postaccident examination of the engine and airframe revealed no mechanical failures or malfunctions that would have precluded normal operation.

NTSB Probable Cause Narrative

A loss of engine power in cruise flight for reasons that could not be determined because a postaccident examination of the engine did not reveal any anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.
