NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident

On July 5, 2012, about 1324 Japan Standard Time (0424 UTC), an Airbus A319-112, (B2332), operated by China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd., was instruction to hold short of the runway at the Naha Airport (OKA), Okinawa, Japan; however, the flight crew taxied onto the runway. As a result, an approaching Airbus A320-214, (JA01AJ), operated by AirAsia Japan Co., Ltd., executed a go-around. No one was injured and neither aircraft sustained damage. The event is being investigated by the Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative as the State of Manufacture under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13.
