NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On August 18, 2012, about 2100 eastern daylight time, a Eurocopter AS 350 B2, N631SD, operated by the Oakland County Sheriff, flew at an altitude of about 50-75 feet above a crowd of people during a law enforcement flight. The pilot and observer were uninjured and two children on the ground sustained minor injuries from the helicopter rotor wash. The helicopter was registered to the County of Oakland and operated by the Oakland County Sheriff under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. Night visual meteorological conditions at the time of the incident and a flight plan had not been filed for the flight that originated at 2030 and landed without further incident at 2230.
