NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On July 28, 2012, at approximately 2230 local time, an Agusta Westland 109SP helicopter, registration XA-UQH, crashed while in flight. The wreckage was found at an elevation of 12,190 feet, close to the Jiquipilco-Temoaya road, Municipality of Jiquipilco, in the State of Mexico, North of Mexico City. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces, and the two flightcrew and one passenger were fatally wounded.
The accident is being investigated by the Mexican Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). The NTSB designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the DGAC's investigation under the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as State of Manufacture of the engines.
