NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On November 22, 2013, about 1030 universal coordinated time (UTC), a Robinson R66 helicopter, Brazilian registration PR-MXM, while on approach to the Hotel Portobello Heliport (SIWS), Mangaratiba Municipality – State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, began to rotate around its vertical axis, lost altitude, and then impacted the waters of Mangaratiba Bay, and sank. The pilot was fatally injured.
