NTSB Narrative Summary Released at Completion of Accident
On July 30, 2014, at 2000 Alaska daylight time, a DeHavilland DHC-2 MK I, N62197, impacted terrain after the airplane overran the runway during takeoff in a remote location about 60 miles northeast of Talkeetna, Alaska. The airplane sustained substantial damage. The pilot and a passenger were uninjured. The airplane was registered to Gattis Aircraft Inc and operated by Glenn Air under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The flight was originating at the time of the accident and was destined to Wasilla Airport, Wasilla, Alaska.
